Planting Prince Philip's Avenue

The tree planting is a joint activity of the DofE programme (DofE: Duke of Edinburgh International Award), the Planting the Future initiative and the Central Bohemian Region. A hundred lime trees will grow in Vestec to commemorate the legacy of Prince Philip, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday last year, and most importantly to commemorate his activities in support of young people.

Volunteer registration opens at 10:00 a.m., with the planting ceremony beginning at 11:00 a.m. (program).

Participants meet at the public barbecue area by the retention tank near the cycle path towards Kunratice (Map).

Project #dofe100 kicked off with a reception to celebrate Prince Philip's legacy, organised by the DofE under the auspices of the Deputy President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jiří Růžička, in June 2021. People and companies who care about the future of the younger generation can still contribute to this initiative through the platform darujme.cz to the DofE Social Fund to enable socially disadvantaged young people to join the programme.

The planting of the Alley will be attended not only by those who have financially supported the DofE programme and on whose behalf a particular tree will always be planted, but also by volunteers who decide to help with the planting itself. Anyone can come along to the event and get involved by easy registration (via the "RESPONDE" button below the event schedule). For more information, please visit dofe.cz.
