To build a small photovoltaic power plant in Vestec, you need a permit from the building authority
Vestec is one of the six localities in the Czech Republic where the installation of small renewable energy sources, mainly domestic photovoltaic power plants, requires a permit from the relevant building authority from 1 January 2025. This is because these are areas where important radio-communication facilities used to ensure the defence of the state are at risk, especially due to the free construction of photovoltaic power plants.
On Wednesday, 20 November 2024, the Government approved a decree establishing the designated areas of the Ministry of Defence in which buildings for the production of renewable energy with a total installed capacity of up to 50 kW are not small buildings under the Building Act (map of the defined area in Vestec). The Regulation comes into force on 1 January 2025.
